Accelerated 3D groundwater model generation

Leapfrog Hydro accelerates groundwater model creation beyond the constraints of conventional GIS packages and traditional modelling software, changing the way hydrogeology is modelled for the better. Traditional modelling methods require extensive manual interpretation of hydrogeological structures, a time consuming procedure which complicates updating of models as new data becomes available. In contrast, Leapfrog Hydro allows you to construct initial conceptual models directly from your data within hours, removing the tedious manual work previously required.

An integrated solution for streamlined modelling 

Flexible import options allow you to combine all available data into consistent conceptual models. Leapfrog Hydro supports the input of well logs, sections, maps, elevation grids, images, GIS, mesh and point data. Import from EQuIS Professional by EarthSoft. Leapfrog Hydro supports a variety of output formats including: FEFLOW grids, MODFLOW grids, GIS contours, a combination of surfaces, point data and sections. MODFLOW and FEFLOW grids can be created from the 3D geological model, improving the speed and ease of assigning properties to a model and streamlining the modelling workflow.

Leapfrog Hydro enables a wide variety of data to be visualised within a sophisticated 3D environment. Visualisation of projects in 3D has proven a powerful way to enhance understanding and communication between staff working on a project as well as for those who are non-geologically oriented. The ability to visualise multiple models (such as the geological and groundwater model grids) within the one environment is very powerful and particularly useful in situations when geologists and hydrologists are working together on the project.

Fast, flexible data management and processing

The data-driven modelling approach is enhanced by Leapfrog Hydro’s advanced visualisation and quick and easy data verification tools. This enables you to detect errors in your log files both by data consistency checking and slicing through your data sets in 3D. Numeric interpolation of large numbers of points is performed rapidly using Radial Basis Functions; an approach that can be shown to be equivalent to linear variogram Kriging.

Unlike other groundwater modelling software packages, Leapfrog Hydro is highly flexible and lets you change model resolution, develop multiple models in parallel to test alternative hydrogeological scenarios and compare numeric and geological models, quickly and easily. The intuitive interface clearly separates data, assumptions and model to maintain consistency, giving more confidence in the results.
